Life Reflection
“To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven “ Eccl 3:1
Raymond Anderson, affectionately known as “Little Hitler,” was born on August 16, 1950, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Gladys and Eugene Anderson Sr. He was the fourth of nine children.
Raymond grew up in North Philadelphia and was educated in the Philadelphia public school system, graduating from Simon Gratz High School. He later served in the United States Navy, receiving an honorable discharge. Throughout his career, he worked at the Naval Base Shipyard in South Philadelphia and eventually retired from the United States Postal Service.
Raymond accepted the Lord’s salvation in the early 1960s at his family church, The Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ. As his faith deepened, he was led to join Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church, where his mother was a member. There, he served faithfully as a deacon and sang in the Cathedral Men’s Quartet. Raymond was devoted to serving God, his church, his family, and his friends. He was fiercely loyal, passionate, and always willing to help whenever called upon.
Raymond was a loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He did everything he could to ensure his wife’s happiness and well-being.
He leaves behind cherished memories with his beloved wife, Ernestine Anderson; stepson, Keith Scott; granddaughters, Tyera and Tamia; his youngest brother, Larry Anderson; and four sisters: Diane Handy, Jeanette Brown, Marvetta Anderson, and Kama Sue Anderson. He is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Phillip Brown and Roosevelt Scott; three sisters-in-law, Marjorie Anderson, Sarah Scott, and Sheryl Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors.
