The Life and Legacy of Mrs. Charlotte Holiday Clay-Rice
Mrs. Charlotte Holiday Clay-Rice was born on April 15, 1941, in South Philadelphia to the late Aubrey Holiday, who passed away in 1943, and the late Esther Barnes Clay, who passed away in 1997.
Charlotte was the middle child of three. She was preceded in death by her older brother, Leroy Clay, who passed away in 2000, and her younger brother, Eugene Clay, who passed away in 1953.

Charlotte received her early education in the Philadelphia public school system. During her high school years, she was forced to leave school due to medical reasons. Determined to continue her education, Charlotte later returned to school through the Rev. Leon Sullivan GED Program, where she earned her high school diploma. The following year, she attended Pierce Junior College and earned an Associate Degree in Business Management.
